City Band
| Under the musical direction of Susan Hiddle, the city band opens its season of summer concerts at 7 p.m. Sunday May 25th at the Spicer Pavilion, West Lake Park north of Paris town. Susan Hiddle is the fifth director to lead the popular city band over nearly 100 years. The City Band concert season will continue throughout June and until July 18 or 19 with the exception of Father’s Day weekend which the City Band will perform on Saturday instead and on the Fourth of July from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. during the park’s annual celebration. Our 4th of July concert is one of the best in Illinois. We give a 2 hour concert of patriotic music. We have a HUGE american flag as our backdrop. The band is open to all musicians aged High School and above. Susan Hiddle is joined by staff members Susan Farris, band manager and Jonathon Boren, equipment manager. They are under the office of the Paris City Band Board which includes Jane Blair, Sally Parkinson and Pete Templeton.
Susan Hiddle's love for music is exemplified by her continued dedication. Whether during the school year, when she works with students ranging from sixth grade band to high school choir or directing the City Band one thing is for certain she knows her music.
