The Mayor and City Council provide policy direction and management of City services. Full-service functions and support operations include:

• Police and Fire Protection
• Water and Sewage Treatment
• Street and Alley Maintenance
• Water and Sewer Line Maintenance
• Park Operations
• Code Enforcement and Building Inspection
• A Carnegie Library

A staff of nearly 100 full-time employees provides these services to residents. Volunteers from the community serve on a number of committees that make recommendations to the City Council. These Committees include the:

Park Board
Board of Fire and Police Commissioners
