The City of Paris provides water and sewer services to city residents. The City’s Water Department is responsible for reading water meters, preparation of water bills, receipt of payments and customer inquiries.
Water and Sewer service activation is completed at the Utility Billing Department at City Hall located at 206 S. Central Avenue. A deposit of $50 for property owners and $75 for renters will be required for service to be activated. Deposits for accounts other than renters will be returned if the owner has maintained the account on a current basis for a period of at least 14 consecutive months. Deposits for renters will be held as long as the customer remains a renter for five years. Commercial accounts are not required to maintain a deposit.
Water bills are mailed each month for all accounts. The City bills two months behind. Bills are due by the 10th of each month. A 10% late fee will be added if payment is not received by the 10th. Service termination for non-payment will take place on the 20th of each month. The outstanding bill, plus a $25.00 service fee, must be paid before the City can restore service.
Direct Debit is also available to all residents who are interested in the service. Please download the Direct Debit Authorization Form. Customers should complete and return the form to City Hall.
